What are Throughput Quotas?
Throughput Quotas are limits that are placed on the number of Documents (RIA) or Forms (DFA) that can be processed by an EWA instance (either yearly or monthly)
When a customer subscribes to use EWA on premise or in EzeScan Cloud, their subscription is tied to an agreed monthly or yearly quota for documents or forms or a mix of both.
EzeScan Cloud uses throughput quotas to help control the cloud platform costs in relation to what the customer is being charged to use the service. Customers processing high volumes of documents or forms require more compute power, more memory, more disk, more network bandwidth which incurs more cost from the underlying platform provider.
Quotas also make sure that the EzeScan support team is not swamped by an unreasonable number of support desk cases related to a customers higher volume use of the platform than was negotiated or reasonably expected.

What are App Credits?
App Credits is the mechanism that EWA uses to control usage of tokens consumed by AI Models that are available in EzeScan Cloud. They ensure that a customers AI usage is provisioned in relation to the subscription fees being paid.
Different AI models use different pricing structures for their input and output token consumption. ‘Out of the box’ models provided by Microsoft are usually cheaper to use than ‘custom’ models that require to be trained on a customers own data.
A block of App Credits (e.g. 10,000) is purchased by the customer from our Sales department. The app credits allow the customer to use any of our supported Microsoft AI models (ie.g.Azure Document Intelligence, Azure Open AI, Azure Content Understanding). When an AI model runs (it performs OCR, uses AI to find data and generates output data) it consumes Azure input and output tokens. Different AI models consume tokens (and hence app credits) at different rates.
EWA draws down from the purchased block of App credits to cover the Microsoft Azure platform billing cost for using those Azure AI tokens.
