Field Types

The following field types are available within the WebApps platform. This section provides a brief overview of each field type and identifies the applications in which it can be configured and used.

For detailed information about a specific field type, including its available configuration options, select the field name to view the associated documentation.

If you are unsure which field type to choose, start with a Custom field. You can later convert the field to a different type if required. Any settings that are common to both field types will be retained during the conversion.

The Custom field is a flexible, general-purpose field that can be displayed in various formats; Text Box, Dropdown, Radio Buttons, Checkboxes, Multi Select, and Text Area.

Numeric

The Numeric field accepts numeric input and is designed for capturing values such as integers, decimals, and currency amounts.

Date

The Date field is used to capture date information. It can be configured to use a specific date format. Dates can be entered manually or selected from a calendar.

Database Lookup

The Database Lookup field is used to retrieve values from external data sources. It can be configured to perform lookups against ODBC, SQL, Authority Server, EzeScan Placeholders, or System data sources, returning values that can be used to populate fields or validate information.

Integration Find

The Integration Find field allows users to search or browse a supported integration to select and return a value. Depending on the integration and what it supports, it can be configured to support searching, browsing, or both.

Integration Lookup

The Integration Lookup field connects to a supported integration and performs a configured Search Action. The results returned by the search are displayed as a dropdown list, allowing users to select the required value. Available Search Actions are specific to each integration and will vary depending on the connected system.

Grid

The Grid field can be configured to display large amounts of data in a grid format. Fields can be added to the grid and configured in the same way as standard fields.

Lookup Grid

The Lookup Grid field is used to query and display row-level data from an external database in a grid format. It can be configured to perform lookups against Authority Server, ODBC, and SQL data sources.

Attachment Viewer

The Attachment Viewer field allows users to view documents and files that have been attached to a form. It provides an embedded viewing experience, enabling attachments to be reviewed without needing to download them separately.

Barcode Scan

The Barcode Scan field allows barcode data to be captured directly using a device's camera. Once scanned, the decoded barcode value is automatically entered into the field.

Classification Info

The Classification Info field is used to display the classification results returned by DRA. It shows the classification types identified and their associated confidence percentages.

External API

The External API field can be used to connect to an external API endpoint and invoke a configured capability function. The returned data is then used to populate the field.

Html

The HTML field can be used to render custom HTML content within a form or page. It is typically used to display messages or instructions to users, or to add formatting elements such as dividers, headings or additional spacing between fields.

ID Counter

The ID Counter field is used to generate incrementing values. It retrieves the next available counter value from the selected ID Counter configured in EzeScan Authority Server and populates the field automatically.

Image

The Image field can be used to display a specific image within a form or page. It is typically used to show logos, instructions, or other visual content to users.

Likert

The Likert field is used to allow users to answer multiple questions that all have the same answer set. It is commonly used in forms and surveys to measure levels of agreement, satisfaction, frequency, importance, or similar attitudes using a fixed rating scale.

Payment

The Payment field enables users to make payments directly within a form using a configured payment gateway. It can be used to collect fees, registrations, purchases, or other payments as part of the form submission process.

Percentage

Rating

The Rating field enables users to provide feedback by selecting a value from a configurable icon-based scale. The icon type, colour, size, and rating scale can be customized to support a variety of use cases.

The Separator field can be used to organise fields within a form by dividing them into sections and creating a multi-tabbed form layout.

Signature

The Signature field is used to electronically capture a user's signature. It can be configured to allow users to either draw their signature directly within the application or enter a typed representation of their signature,

Time

The Time field is used to capture time values. Users can manually enter a time or select one using a configurable time picker. Time values can be displayed and entered in either 12-hour or 24-hour format.

Upload

The Upload field allows users to attach and upload documents directly to a form. It can be used to collect supporting files, such as documents, images, or other attachments, as part of the data submission process.
