63. What does the Binarise image enhancement do?
Binarisation is the process of converting a colour or graysale image into a black and white image.
This functionality is exposed in several places in EzeScan DESKTOP as follows:
On the Job Admin form Image Enhancement tab, there is an 'Auto Binarise' option. When a job containing coloured pages is imported or scanned, each page is analysed to see whether it is a black and white image or a colour image. Images that contain only black and white are then converted from colour into black and white. Images that are colour will remain as colour.
On the Thumbnail Viewer Menu there is an 'Binarise (Auto Detection)' option. When a job containing coloured pages is displayed in the viewer, each page is analysed to see whether it is a black and white image or a colour image.
